Putting
This is the drill to work on
Each of the two groups devoted a full hour to putting and the following are the mains points that arose.
Grip
Each golfer has their own way to grip a club, yet the most important thing in all the different grip styles is that the two hands remain connected while at the same time holding the club. This will stop the wrists from breaking during the putting stroke.
This is achieved in the following way,
R/H golfers
Ensure that your left hand thumb sits along the life line on your right hand when gripping the putter.
Set Up and alignment
1. Your feet should be shoulder width apart
2. Ball position should be somewhere from the middle of your stance to the inside of your left foot.
3. Putter and ball aimed at the hole
4. Two feet and left shoulder aimed to the left of the hole ( remember the train tracks )
Putting Stroke
Tempo is the most important thing here remember either one of the following
1. Tick Tock ( just like the clock)
2. or just think, One Two
Club Head speed and Distance
What is meant here, is to speed up your take away and shorten your putting stroke
1. Start the putting stroke by pushing your left hand into your right hand ( this should make both hands work together )
2. Bring the putter back as far as your right foot only.
3. Power your right hand through the ball.
Perfect Golf Swing - How to Develop it
True artists learn their art in the classroom and construct their art outside with a clear mind. This approach will help you to enjoy developing the art of golf. On the driving range and in a lesson where you can work on individual swing mechanics, but to do this out on the course will destroy your game. Out on the golf course is the time to clear your mind. When you take a swing you should be thinking only of where you want the ball to go.
Technical thoughts at this point will, almost certainly, destroy the shot. This is way it is important to arrive early before your round and do your practice routine.
